The nice weather in the area, along with the lush vegetation and quiet beaches, makes it the perfect place to experience the other Panama while remaining close to the big city. Beaches such as Punta Chame, Gorgona or the surfer Malibu Beach share the limelight with the famous waterfall of La Chorrera, the Cerro Cabra or the Cocoa Cave. It has five districts. Panama Oeste is full of adventure tourism. Agriculture, livestock and fishing are primary activities. Pineapple production is a well-developed industry.
